This composite sensor is able to detect values of solar irradiance and temperature and to transmit them to a data logger by means of outputs, that can be set as pulse digital outputs or analogical 4÷20 mA. The sensor carries out a perfect detection of two main parameters for evaluating the efficiency of the photovoltaic plants: the irradiance and working temperature of the panels.
By considering these measurements it’s possible to define the real performance of the plant and to detect eventual problems that can vary the real efficiency than theoretical values.
The irradiance is detected by means of a sensor protection by an optical glass window, inserted in a waterproof structure, with protection degree IP65. Within the module is also detected the sensor temperature, useful for an accurate compensation.
The detection of the temperature is performed by means of an interface for probes PT100, externally mounted to module. For the connection, all the typologies are considered: 2, 3 or 4 wires. (Probe PT100 with 4 wires; L = 2 m. Optional).
Digital pulse outputs allow the direct connection with X-Meter or X-RWU data logger; it’s possible to set them as 4÷20 mA analogical outputs for connecting the device to any process controller or data logger.
In addition, a serial insulated port RS-485 is available. By means of this port it’s possible to read the measured values with RTU Modbus protocol (NOT enabled for the base version).
