XM9 device allows the reading of temperature by means of a PT100, PT500 or PT1000 probe and to convert the read value on the pulse output with a frequency between 0Hz and 5Hz. In particular, the minimum value of the measure scale will imply an output pulse of frequency 0Hz ( 0 pulses per second ), while the output pulse corresponding to the full-scale value will imply an output pulse of frequency 5Hz ( 5 pulses per second ). The applicable probes may have 2, 3 or 4 wires, eventually with shielded cable.
An important feature is galvanic insulation at 2,5 KV between the inputs and the rest of the connections.
The tolerance on the output pulse measurement is guaranteed at about 0.5 °C, within a range between -40 °C and 150°C. Anyway, the best accuracy is obtained through 4 wires thermo-resistances with shielded cable.
