Use Silent Running SR 1000 in engine rooms, hatch covers, hull, bulkheads, bow thruster, duct work, fuel tanks, generator enclosures, air conditioner enclosures. Engine rooms, once Silent Running is dry and cured (dry time is about 1 hour) it is resistant to most chemicals and will not dissolve in water. Thus it can be used in the bilge, stringers, bulkheads, hull, ceiling and hatches. Apply to hull area surrounding the bow thruster to reduce the vibration and noise caused by its operation. On fuel tank(s) it will reduce the drumming and low frequency rumble associated with metal tanks as the fuel level goes down.
Silent Running can be applied to air conditioning fan enclosures and duct work to help reduce the mechanical and fan noise generated from its operation. Coat the generator enclosure including the surface it is mounted on to help reduce the sound of it running.
Use on engine covers, generator enclosures, bulkheads even in an outboard lazarette.
Silent Running SR 1000 has been shown to reduce the noise and vibration from both inboard and outboard motors. Silent Running is significantly lighter than traditional lead foams thus saves weight for the same given area covered.
Also due to only being approximately 1/16” thick once all coats have been applied, it saves space as well.
Use in crew quarters, mechanical spaces, pump enclosures, engine rooms, machinery covers, fuel tanks, ice machines are among some of the areas. By applying to the crew quarters and living spaces, Silent Running SR 1000 will help to reduce the noise and vibration which can contribute to crew fatigue during down time. Coating fuel tanks will help to reduce the drumming and low frequency rumble associated with metal tanks as the fuel level is reduced. Machinery enclosures, covers and spaces can all radiate noise and coating them will help to minimize the amount that is transferred out to other places on board.
During design stage, specify which areas will receive Silent Running SR 1000 to help reduce noise prior to it becoming a problem. Utilizing advanced sound software, designers can now predict where the vibration and sound will be concentrated and proactively incorporate Silent Running into their design and specs.
Perfect time to install Silent Running SR 1000 is during the hull build to best utilize the availability of open space prior to the installation of engine(s), pumps, steering controls, tanks, plumbing, wiring and all the gear and accessories that go into a hull during the build. Saves time and money with a quick and easy application. There is no cutting and no scrap pieces that just get thrown out. Conforms to all surface shapes, flat, curved or compound.
For added guest comfort apply Silent Running SR 1000 to engine rooms, decks, dining areas and all other guest spaces where noise could be a problem. Apply to duct, air plenums, fan shrouds and any other noise generating equipment spaces or covers.
Reducing noise helps to provide a more acceptable degree of comfort for both passengers and crew alike.
Apply Silent Running SR 1000 to decks, crew quarters, galley spaces, engine rooms and living spaces. Can also be applied to duct work, bulkheads and machinery and pump rooms.
Reducing noise exposure helps to provide a safer working environment, such as the ability to hear audible alarms and reduce noise induced hearing loss.
New SOLAS regulations require certain compartments on ships that are 1,600 gross tons and larger and contracted on or after July 1, 2014 to be in compliance.
